Hi, I'm Laura — Training Neuroscientist, ICF accredited Coach and here to give you the science to help you succeed in business and life

Meet Laura

Do you know that excited feeling you get when you decide to do something new and you’re really passionate about what it will mean when you achieve it…

…and then you actually try to take the first step and reality bites you in the ass as you’re overcome with a million different worries and fears over how on earth you’re going to actually achieve it?

Fears like:

  • Who on earth do I think I am to think I can do this?
  • What will others think of me?
  • I’m not qualified enough to do this?
  • What if I fail?
  • What if I succeed???

Every time we try to start something that steps us out of the norm, our mind goes into overdrive trying to protect us. And for good reason.

Fitting in keeps us safe. It keeps us part of the pack.

Popping our heads up and being seen can be dangerous.

If we’d been shunned from the pack historically, we’d have been left to fend off wild animals. But as we’re no longer living in caves, our mind can go into overdrive worrying about, well, anything.

And we can spend so long in fight or flight mode that we become worn down and exhausted.

That idea that once excited the pants off us is now a big scary thing that’s lurking over us. We still have the want to achieve it but the fear to start is crippling.

Can you relate to this?

When was the last time you wanted to do something outside of your everyday but the fear of actually starting put the brakes on?

Whilst it’s easy to say, “hey just don’t worry about it, it’ll be all ok”, in reality our minds don’t work like that.

We can hold up this pretence of being all ok about it for a while, but if we’re still carrying those fears around under the surface, they will raise their heads again at some point.

And let’s face it, it’s exhausting trying to battle on with our heads down whilst trying to ignore the internal voice telling us that we shouldn’t be doing it. That we should play safe.

But how can some people seem to brush off these fears and keep moving forwards? What secret formula have they found?

They look at how their dreams are helping others instead of putting the focus on themselves.

They look at how they can serve others and make their lives better rather than what it means for them.

By removing the focus from what it means for you onto the external of what it could mean for others, you are taking the pressure off.  Who else will this help, how will it help them, what gifts do you have that others need?

It also makes it easier to show up everyday because you’re making it about something other than yourself.

Being bold for the people that you can help.

For the people that you can serve. You have such a uniqueness that nobody else has ever or will ever possess.

So today I’m being bold and launching my new podcast. This both excites the hell out of me and scares the heebie-jeebies out of me at the same time.

My husband said I should have a radio show because I can talk non stop so this is my equivalent (I’m not sure he was being 100% kind when he said that come to think of it 🤔)

It’s called The Novice Entrepreneur and its for wannabe, newbie or seasoned entrepreneurs who still feel like a novice (you don’t have to be a mum for this one!).

It’s so new that I don’t even have the first episode out yet but I wanted to share my plans with you whilst I was feeling bold 😊.

Because, well now I’m committed!

Each week I’ll be bringing you the best advice, tips and help to get your business off the ground and to the place you want it to be.

Whatever your goal is, I’m going to be right there with you helping you achieve it and I’m going to be inviting some special guests along for the ride.

I’ll be asking the questions that us novices are too afraid to ask and will give you the answers free of jargon and unknown acronyms so you can implement them straight away without needing to google every term.

Because I believe that life’s too short to not be living the life you want whilst doing the thing that you feel most passionate about. Even if it scares the 💩 out of you!

So how can you reframe one of your dreams so it looks outwards rather than inwards? How can you take a new look at what you want and make it about what you’re giving not what you’ll receive.

Please know that you can work through your fears that keep you stuck. Let’s do it together.
